An artist or artisan film can be used in a variety of ways. It can be an introduction to who you are and why you are passionate about the art you create. It can also help generate sales through increased visibility or it could simply be an explainer video to help people understand how you create your art.
Ruth Waters – Sculptor
Exploring the human condition – how we relate to ourselves and to others – has been the major focus of Ruth’s work for more than 50 years. Here we get to see her at home in her studio.
Diane Varner – Photographer
Daily Walks was the name of Diane Varner’s photoblog. At the height of the photoblog movement, Diane’s blog was consistently ranked one of the top five photoblogs in the world. A lot has changed since then but Diane is still taking daily walks and continues to make beautiful images of the California coastal areas around Half Moon Bay.
Lawrence Fodor – Painter
The ethereal light that flows through this series of Larry’s paintings comes from his observation of the environment around his home in Santa Fe and on his travels to and from the West Coast.
Nellie Fitzgerald – Musician
In between semesters at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Nellie comes home to the Bay Area and busks on the streets of San Francisco.
Wayne Wichern – Milliner
This short profile film on Wayne Wichern is a personal project. Wayne has been making hats for 28 years and specializes in women’s blocked fashion hats.
Alyson Champ – Collage Artist
This short profile film on Alyson Champ is a personal project. Alyson has been a collage artist for 7 years and an oil painter for 15+ years before that. We both learned from the same art teacher in high school in rural Quebec. When I went home last year I spent a few hours with Alyson in her studio and this is the result.
